Walking the Medicine Path is an intimate, hands-on immersion into the practices, rituals and ways of tending that have become foundational to my work as a spiritual herbalist, ceremonialist and practitioner.
This day is an opportunity to move beyond learning individual spiritual techniques and begin exploring how we weave them together into a grounded, ethical and relational medicine practice.
Throughout our time together, I’ll share practices rooted in Caribbean curanderismo, spiritual herbalism and the ancestral traditions that have shaped my own medicine path. We’ll explore not only what we do, but how we prepare ourselves to hold space for another person, how we listen, how we protect and clear our own energetic bodies, and how we remain in right relationship with the medicines and traditions we work with.
What We’ll Explore
The Working Medicine Altar
We’ll begin at the altar—exploring how to prepare and tend a working spiritual space, the role of prayer and intention, and how the altar can become an active part of healing and ritual work.
Protection + Practitioner Preparation
Before we tend to another person, we tend to ourselves. We’ll explore practices for grounding, energetic boundaries, spiritual protection and clearing before and after medicine work.
Plática + Ethical Client Care
We’ll talk about the art of listening and the role of plática within a healing session. We’ll also discuss consent, discernment, boundaries and the responsibility that comes with being invited into another person’s spiritual and emotional world.
Tobacco Medicine
We’ll work with tobacco as a plant ally for prayer, protection, clearing and spiritual work. I’ll share techniques for working with tobacco intentionally, including practices I’ve continued to deepen during my time in Brazil.
Egg Limpias + Reading the Egg
We’ll move through the foundations of offering an egg limpia, including preparation, prayer, clearing the body and energetic field, and how to begin observing and interpreting the egg afterward as a form of spiritual reading and assessment.
Learning Through Practice
This is an experiential immersion, so we won’t spend the entire day sitting and taking notes.
You’ll have opportunities to practice, ask questions, work with the medicines and begin feeling these techniques in your own hands and body. We’ll move slowly enough to discuss what we notice and how these practices may be adapted with integrity to your own medicine path.
I’ll be bringing tobacco, plants and medicines from Brazil for us to work with throughout the day, alongside tools from the Yabisi Botánica.
All working materials will be provided, as well as food + refreshments.
Who This Is For
This immersion is for herbalists, healers, spiritual practitioners, caregivers, emerging practitioners and those who feel called to deepen their relationship with Caribbean healing traditions and ritual.
You do not need to arrive as an established practitioner. What matters is a willingness to learn, practice with respect and approach this work with curiosity, humility and care.
This day is also a beautiful opportunity for those who have learned with me virtually to finally sit around the medicine altar together, put the teachings into practice and experience the work in person.
Space is intentionally limited so that everyone has the opportunity to practice, receive guidance and engage deeply with the work.
